Overlooking the Village of Shelburne Falls and the Deerfield River, Salmon Falls Gallery is a great place to take in the view: inside you see gorgeous works of art, outside the river flowing under The Bridge of Flowers and over Salmon Falls, the gallery's namesake. We are told we have the best view in town.
Housed in the 100-year-old Wirthmore Grain and Feed building, the Gallery has focused on exhibiting the finest local artists and artisans since 1985. The gallery's 3,400 square feet exhibit more than 100 different artists working in a huge variety of media. We are also the primary showroom of Josh Simpson, an internationally known glass artist working and living right here in Shelburne.
Shelburne Falls is a walkable village. It is home to about a dozen art galleries, as well as fine dining, shops showing collectables & antiques, independent bookstores, a Trolley Museum and a pharmacy that still has a working soda counter. The Falls is both an Historic and Cultural District and Franklin County is a designated Rural Arts Haven. Our residents are busy in performance, music and the visual arts. Spend the day or stay the weekend, there are so many venues to explore.
